Queensland Cotton Grower Saves Nutrients with Supa Humus.
Queensland Cotton grower, David Thompson battled with serious losses to soil applied nutrients before discovering Agrichem’s leading soil conditioner, Supa Humus.
“Soil tests have shown us that Supa Humus has significantly improved retention of nitrogen and phosphate in the soil,” Mr Thompson said recently.
“It’s a great product. Easy to apply, cost effective…just a great product.”
“We’ve been using it on our property (3000 acres) for six years now with a lot of success.
“We’ve had real problems with phosphate lock up in our soil that Supa Humus has helped us address.”
Supa Humus contains humic acid, an organic soil-based chemical that is essential for nutrient availability and uptake. Humic acid improves soil quality in a variety of ways including increasing the activity of beneficial microbes, naturally chelating (stabilising) unstable elements and improving soil structure so as to be more conducive to water retention and nutrient uptake.
Mr Thompson’s property is in Cecil Plains, Queensland.
Supa Humus, an excellent product.
South Australian wine grape grower, Nick Zwierson has spent many years testing Supa Humus against the toughest, hardest patch of earth on his 58 acre property.
The experimental block was set aside for testing products and Supa Humus was first trialed there 11 years ago. Mr Zwierson says the soil was particularly high in lime which caused chlorosis and stunting in his crops.
He said that Supa Humus worked with much success.
“Supa Humus made the soil much more friable and facilitated uptake of other nutrients. We had good results with it…it’s an excellent product.”
“It’s also very easy to use.”
“Andrew Lymburn (Agrichem Regional Manager) has also been very helpful and it’s been a pleasure working with him.”
Kelpak works wonders on Citrus

Eager to test the benefits of applying seaweed concentrate, Kelpak to his crops, Citrus Farm Manager Grant King decided to conduct a trial of his own.
He applied Kelpak onto a test tree and compared it with a neighbouring control, finding a ‘marked difference’ in result.
He says Kelpak produced ‘vigourous growth’ in his crop and he has been applying it with great success since November 04.
Agrichem Regional Manager Anthony Callipari recommended a Kelpak program to Mr King. ‘Anthony suggested we use Kelpak on our re-plants, initially dipping the tree in solution and reapplying Kelpak every 3 weeks (for a total period of nine weeks) via a moat surrounding the crop.
‘So far this year we have noticed excellent leaf growth from this technique and we’re very happy with the results.’
Kelpak is an extract of growth hormones from the fastest growing seaweed in the world, Ecklonia maxima (Kelp). Unlike other seaweed extracts, it is produced according to a unique extraction technology that preserves the quality of the product. It greatly enhances root growth leading to greater plant health and performance.
Grant King is a Citrus Farm Manager for Chiquita Brands South Pacific.
Kelpak works wonders on Grapes

Australian table grape grower Joe Natale says Agrichem’s Kelpak and High PK Ultra have made ‘unbelievable improvements’ to the quality of his crop.
'I’d known (Agrichem Regional Manager) Anthony Callipari for years and when he recommended Kelpak and High PK Ultra late in 2004, I was open to trying them.’
The sweetness, crunchiness, size and colour all improved significantly, to the point we now move 55 pallets a week instead of 22.’
Mr Natale’s grapes are sold locally and exported to Hong Kong and he says he has received nothing but praise for the improvement in the quality of his fruit.
He also says that the liquid products were ‘very easy to apply with no mucking around’.
Joe Natale grows Meninde and Thomson seedless grapes on a 150 acre property.
Discovering the benefits of Fertigation

Garlefan Crop Manager, Alister Weaver has enjoyed great success with fertigation in recent years, finding liquid fertilisers to be an easy to use and effective source of nutrition.
The Canterbury, New Zealand property grows blackcurrants for use in the juice industry and understandably, a premium is placed on fruit quality.
Garlefan uses T-Tape in order to efficiently deliver a range of high analysis nutrition products to their crop.
To help develop an effective liquid nutrition program, Weaver enlisted the help of
leading liquid fertiliser company, Agrichem.
Agrichem’s representative in New Zealand, Roger Davies says Garlefan makes use of a range of starter and NPK fertilisers as well as Zinc and Boron products early and late season. Weaver testifies that the benefits are paying off.
“We have excellent vigour in our blackcurrant crop now and we get many comments from people impressed with the quality of our fruit.”
“We’ve also enjoyed similar success with other crops such as onions. They now have thicker, better quality skins and an increased shelf life.”
Mr Weaver says that in-house trials conducted in their pack house proved the benefits of the products he was applying.
He says that liquids have proven to be an easy to use and highly efficient form of nutrition, and is pleased with the quality and service Agrichem has offered.
Mr Davies says that Agrichem can tailor a nutrient program according to the specific needs of individual growers, and invites other growers to contact him for advice on 0274 361 371.

Seed Rooting Results
“We have had the privilege of working with Agrichem products concerning seed rooting, that is, with booster and broadacre Zn/Cu. We, then, observed the following details.
The roots were bulkier, their size were bigger and more uniform.
There were 12 days of little rains in these sandy areas but the soya beans were not affected.”

Robust Soya Cultivation
“ We’ve noted, in soya cultivation, a very robust root system with many roots. That’s the main objective of these products. It stimulates everything concerned with mineral nutrition.”

Faster and stronger plant development in side by side comparison
“I’ve observed the initial development in the areas treated with Agrichem products. The start was greater than in the non-treated area: The stalk was well developed and the leaves were larger”

Daniel Scremin discovers the Agrichem advantage
“ I cultivated maize last year and the year before with broadacre and booster. I’ve discovered a lot of advantages in Agrichem products, especially concerning the greater lengthening of the roots.”

A-maize-ing results from Agrichem products
“We use Broadacre Zn and Cu, and Booster to treat seeds here in Chapadão do Céu.
We observed as well as in the maize cultivation a better development lengthening of roots.
We’ve applied these products, especially in the 1st year of cultivation, looking for a better root development and profit, consequentially, of the in-furrow application.”
